D-Day

Wed Jun 6, 2007, 11:42 AM

on this day in 1944 in Normandy France thousands of Canadian American, and British troops landed on France to recapture the country from the Germans. thousands died to take the 50 miles of beach that were captured for the invasion of Europe. Today this event is no very well known or cared about and yet if it wasn't for this invasion we would have lost the war and therefore most of Europe. and so today I believe that we as an allied nation in ww2 and many other allied nations should make June 6 every year a national holiday, and that we should remember this day not in victory but in remorse to those young men who gave there lives to protect freedom in Europe.
And so on this day i believe that we should honer those who fought and to remember those who died on the beaches of Normandy.
